Talk Title: Industry-Academia Partnership: The View From The ARM University ProgrammePresenter: Dr. Khaled Benkrid, Worldwide University Programme Manager, ARM LtdLocation: DMEM Conference Room JW707When: 03 December 2015 11:00 – 12:00Abstract: In this talk, Dr. Benkrid will present the ARM university programme and how it is working with universities worldwide to produce and disseminate high quality educational content that is both academically rigorous and industry relevant. In particular, Dr. Benkrid will present the view from the ARM university programme on how various stakeholders need to work together to bridge the education gap and prepare the next generation of engineers, innovators and wealth creators. He will also discuss possible collaboration opportunities in education and research. Biography:Dr. Khaled Benkrid has been the Head of the ARM Worldwide University Programme since January 2013, based in Cambridge, England. Prior to that, he was Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Electronic Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. In addition to his research interests in the areas of high performance efficient computing and electronic design automation, Dr. Benkrid is active in the development of new pedagogical approaches to teaching computer science, engineering and entrepreneurship. Khaled holds a PhD in Computer Science, a Master degree in Electronic Engineering, and an executive MBA. He is a Chartered UK Engineer and a Senior Member of IEEE.
