IP (Intellectual Property) Management PolandAppointed an International Trustee together with Prof Piotr Moncarz of Stanford University, USA and Prof Karl Klingsheim of the Norwegian Technical University. • £7200 from IP Management Poland. IP is short for Intellectual Property and IP Management Poland is a consortium of six Polish universities: - The Jagiellonian University in Krakow (one of the oldest in Europe) - The University of Warsaw - The Warsaw School of Economics - The Warsaw University of Technology - The Warsaw University of Life Sciences - The Medical University of Lodz IP Management Poland was created only four years ago and given the task of addressing the situation where, unlike other developed countries, research and development in Poland was still being undertaken primarily in the universities. IP Management Poland is supported by Polish industry and commerce to develop and improve the growth of innovation and commercialisation of ideas within Poland and to create a bridge between the universities and commerce and industry. The grant is to prepare a report, examining obstacles to patenting knowhow and its widespread commercial exploitation, recommending an action plan.
