Description
Invited seminar in collaboration with Upside EnergyUnderstanding the contribution the residential heat sector can make to national emissions reduction represents a perfect storm of complicating factors: materials science and local thermodynamics; occupant behaviour and engagement; network interactions across multiple vectors; uncertain technological capabilities; interaction with non-heat systems; and the need to assess all of the above across decadal timescales towards targets in 2045/50. We look at the challenges in modelling this sector, and appropriate methods and data that can be applied to resolve these issues towards analysis that can support the demands of policymakers in the coming years.
