The conference addresses the role of urban morphology in delivering sustainable and prosperous cities,
in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and in particular SDG 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities”.
The city’s capacity to change and evolve in time is a quality increasingly regarded in relation to resilience
and the pursuit of prosperity. Urban form holds a key role in this. As
such, urban morphology is key in
the design and management of our evolving cities.
This conference aims to address:
1) the state of the art in the study and understanding of urban form;
2) the current and future challenges that call urban form into play;
3) the relationship between urban morphology and other areas of science, and how to bridge gaps in interdisciplinary research.
