Ever felt like an imposter? We have and we want to talk about it. We're tired of the tropes which tell us to 'fake it til you make it'. Imposterism is commonplace in Higher Education and yet it remains a hidden, individualised issue often framed as stress and anxiety. In a climate of extreme competitiveness and endless metrics, becoming the ‘right kind’ of self is not straightforward and can foster imposterism. This 1-day event focuses on how imposter syndrome becomes translated, negotiated and refused as an individual problem. Instead, we locate imposterism within a broader educational economy and public feeling.
