Description
The University of Strathclyde’s EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) will accelerate the impact from Strathclyde’s EPS research portfolio, with the aim of improving society and the economy. This call is open to Citizen Science/Public Engagement projects where interaction is key to informing the research impact, such as user or patient engagement, as a critical pathway to achieving societal and/or economic impact, including projects that take a Living Lab style approach.
The IAA is inviting proposals for small projects demonstrating novel approaches to engaging citizens/Citizen Science, with important real-world challenges, which could for example follow a living lab style approach.
There is a total allocation of £30,000 under this call and the expectation is that three to six short projects will be funded for a duration of 1 to 4 months. All IAA funds must be fully exhausted by 30th June 2022. If there is a cash contribution from a partner organisation towards the cost of the project, these funds could be used to extend the duration of the project beyond 30th June 2022.
Please note, although this is an EPSRC IAA call, there is not a requirement to directly link projects to an EPSRC grant: “EPSRC recognises that the IAAs are an important mechanism for delivering impact from Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) research and believe that the IAAs would benefit from additional investment to maximise impact in this context across the broader EPS ecosystem, including EPSRC’s institute portfolio.” (EPSRC IAA Award letter) This call is therefore open for all faculties to apply.
