RECORD numbers of Scots pensioners will die in the coming weeks as Arctic temperatures grip the country, experts warned last night.The bitter weather could claim the lives of 50 elderly Scots a day as thousands can no longer afford heating in their homes.Experts warn hospitals across the country, already showing signs of overcrowding, face a massive shortage of beds, which could see the death toll rise even higher.
