European Space Agency Concurrent Engineering Challenge

  • Andrew Wilson (Organiser)

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesParticipation in workshop, seminar, course

Description

This challenge allowed university students from across Europe to learn how ESA assesses technical and financial feasibility of space missions by designing a small satellite mission to the Moon in order to collect data on the micro-meteorite and radiation environment and detect the presence of water/ice on the Lunar South Pole in view of a future Moon base. I personally organised participation of this challenge on behalf of the University of Strathclyde, provided training sessions to students, acted as a systems engineer, site administrator and contributed to the propulsion subsystem team.
