Description
The Dundee Root Medal is an international award presented by the International Society of Root Research (ISRR) in collaboration with the James Hutton Institute and the University of Dundee. It recognizes outstanding contributions to root research, celebrating scientists whose work has significantly advanced our understanding of root biology and its impact on global agricultural systems, sustainability, and food security. The 2024 event was part of the International Society of Root Research—focused on “Integrated root phenotypes under seedling-stage drought in direct-seeded rice.” Dr Amelia Henry shared insights from extensive field trials across Asia, detailing how specific root characteristics contribute to drought resilience in rice crops.
