Outline of the talk: "In response to the ventilator shortages during COVID-19, researchers explored how collaborative robots (cobots) and digital twins could enable fast reconfiguration and scaling of manufacturing under extreme constraints. This case study presents the conceptual design, simulation models, and validation results for a human-robot collaborative production system aimed at rapid ventilator manufacturing. Using digital twins for continuous process optimization and cobots for safe, flexible assembly, the study demonstrates the potential for future manufacturing systems to become more adaptive, resilient, and pandemic-proof.
