Climate Finance Innovation: Connecting Financial Technology, Space Data and Resilient Timing

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesParticipation in workshop, seminar, course

Description

About this event

This event aims to actively engage industry in the emerging opportunities at the interface between financial technology, earth observation data and timing infrastructure to drive innovation in climate finance.

The scale of financing required to achieve the net-zero ambition is an immense challenge. Using a challenge-led approach this event will demonstrate how state-of-the-art interdisciplinary research, like that underway at the University of Strathclyde, can deliver new climate finance solutions that leverage the power of AI-enriched earth observation data. The importance of a sound timing accuracy and resilience framework for this new financial services paradigm will be considered, with input from the National Physical Laboratory (NPL). The event provides a unique opportunity for the FinTech and Space industries to network with one another and the academic community on cross-collaborative pathways to technology-led innovation in climate finance.
