This Disability History Month event, open to all staff and students at the University of Strathclyde brings together an online panel from the Strathclyde Institute of Education whose work focuses on disability studies and inclusive education. Together, the panel will discuss one chapter (Chapter 11), from the book, Neurotribes by Steve Silberman – highlighting key themes, such as: the role of language in shaping social attitudes, the ways in which neurodiversity and disability are understood, and how we might all begin to create spaces for belonging for all. The panel will be chaired by Dr. Jane Essex, and include the following panel members: Prof. Deborah Robinson, Dr. Yuchen Wang, Dr. Charlotte Webber, Dr. Maggie Macaskill, Jane Catlin, Gillian McConnell, and Dr. Zinnia Mevawalla.
