Description
In this evening meeting we will discuss a recently-funded Royal Academy of Engineering Industrial Fellowship project that aims to develop a UK ground-motion model using a state-of-the-art approach. Firstly, we will summarise the limitations of current approaches for ground-motion modelling for critical infrastructure (e.g. nuclear power plants) in the UK, and why we are developing a new model. Secondly, we will present the plan for our project, based on the hybrid empirical method and discuss the challenges in applying this approach for the UK. Lastly, we would like to receive feedback on our plans from the audience and understand your needs for a UK ground-motion model.| Period | 25 Jan 2023 |
