Description

This presentation introduces the concept of Value of Information (VoI) applied in seismology and earthquake engineering. Content of the presentation were the following: - Definition of VoI - Definition of the study case for VoI application : Estimation of optimal seismic design for a particular building - Sensitivity analysis when a single uncertain soil properties parameter is considered (Vs30): Discrete and continuous assumption - Sensitivity analysis when 2 uncertain parameters are considered (Thickness and Vs of a single layer over bedrock) - Ongoing and future perspectives This research and presented results are part of my current PhD project at the University of Strathclyde
