Description
This event explores the delivery of family history,
genealogy and heritage in Scotland, to both
national and international tourists. The aim is to
bring together tourism professionals, amateur
and professional genealogists, tourists and other
stakeholders interested in this area of Scottish
tourism. You will hear from a range of speakers
involved in the delivery of ancestral tourism and
beyond, including recent University of Strathclyde
research projects from the Department of Marketing
and the Centre for Lifelong Learning. Afternoon
workshops will be offered on ‘digitising the
ancestral visit’ and an ‘ask the experts’ session for
budding family historians.
