Description
The objective of the 2nd Joint China-UK Expert Symposium on Sustainable Development & Decarbonisation is to foster inter- and trans-disciplinary work together between Peking University and the University of Strathclyde to better address the most critical global challenges. It will catalyse the development of new strategies and solutions in the field of sustainable development and decarbonisation and seek to tackle the key global challenges and problems that have been identified in our Joint Funding Call.In addition to promoting the Joint Peking University - University of Strathclyde Programme for Sustainable Development and Decarbonisation, the Symposium will also help to deepen the existing relationship between the two Universities - and between the President and Principal - and between colleagues at our two Universities. It will stimulate more in-depth, inter-disciplinary discussion and the exploration of how our collaboration might be embedded over the next year and beyond, building on the Joint Funding Call.
This Symposium seeks to:
• Highlight the progression and outcomes of ongoing collaborations between Peking University and the University of Strathclyde in research and development.
• Explore Synergies Across Key Themes: Facilitate a high-level dialogue that bridges academic research and practice with practical applications in sustainable finance, partnerships for regional sustainability, sustainable energy systems, and skills and competencies for a sustainable future, reflecting both universities' commitment to addressing global sustainability challenges.
